Zebra Print Beads

Many of them are realizing that their choices for chillier temperatures are either worn, ill-fitting, or hopelessly out of style. For them, it is a perfect time to reinvest in the one clothing item that can support several different outfits: the cardigan sweater. When closed, it can stand alone as a casual or dressy top. And women who leave it open can accessorize the look with various tops, tanks, and shells underneath. Cardigans are great with slacks, jeans, or even lounge pants. Most importantly, their comfort and functionality make them popular choices when the mercury drops.

Here are several cardigan choices that are available with fun prints:

Arty Crafts of South Africa

The vibrant variety of cultural groups living in South Africa, and its rich artistic heritage, means that there are countless opportunities for visitors to purchase a wide range of traditional handicrafts. Almost everywhere you go there will be artists selling their wares and by purchasing authentic souvenirs, you can not only take home an attractive keepsake, but also promote local economies and provide these entrepreneurs with a sustainable income.

All of the major cities including Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Port Elizabeth have huge markets dedicated to selling local arts and crafts, and it's often here that you can pick up the most unique crafts at the best price. Smaller towns also have some charming markets, some of which are permanent, while others run monthly, or during peak tourist season. Bargaining is acceptable in some markets, but realise that you are supporting the livelihood of local vendors.

Crafty Cape Town

Cape Town is cosmopolitan, arty and the perfect place to pick up a unique souvenir. The 'Mother City' is home to a brilliant variety of craft markets, which sell good quality, authentically South African pieces at ideal prices.

The cobble-stoned Greenmarket Square in Cape Town's centre is a lively craft market, selling African carvings, masks and drums, beadwork, jewellery, clothing, leather work and ceramics. You'll definitely be able to find something as a personal souvenir, or as a gift to take home to someone special. The Red Shed Craft Workshop, and the Waterfront Craft Market are both indoor markets situated at the V&A Waterfront, and are open seven days a week, selling clothing, jewellery, and other fine crafts. For a vibrant flea market experience, head to Greenpoint Market on Sundays, where you can purchase a wide variety of crafts, including African art and beads. Weekends are the time for craft markets across Cape Town, and Hout Bay, Constantia, Kirstenbosch and Rondesbosch hold regular craft fairs.

Zulu Finery

If you're in KwaZulu Natal, visiting the spectacular Drakensberg or the region's gorgeous beaches, you have to pick up some of the beautiful traditional Zulu handicrafts that originate in this area. Although highly decorative and colourful, Zulu beadwork is not just attractive jewellery, but also has an important symbolic significance in Zulu culture.

Traditional Zulu clothing and beads used to be worn throughout the year, but now are normally worn only on ceremonial occasions. Beads are intricately woven into the history of Zulu people, as they were used for traditional finery since they first became available through trading, mainly from India. These glass beads were highly valued in South Africa, because the science of glass-making was as yet unknown in the country. Beads therefore became precious, and were crafted into adornments to be worn for traditional customs, or as a sign of social status.

Certain messages are sent through the specific colours and design of a beadwork item, and this means that the stunning creations you may buy in a craft shop or market might have a wonderful deeper meaning. The language of Zulu beadwork is based around the shape of the triangle, and seven basic colours. The three corners of the triangle represent father, mother and child. So a triangle pointing down represents an unmarried woman, and pointing up it represents an unmarried man. Two triangles joined at their base are for a married woman, and two triangles joined at their points in an hourglass shape stand for a married man.
The vivid colours of Zulu beadwork also express particular ideas, both positive and negative. Black, for instance, stands for both marriage and sorrow, while green means both illness and contentment.
You can buy amazing Zulu crafts, including jewellery and dcor items, at markets and curio shops all over KwaZulu Natal, or for a really authentic experience, visit a Traditional Village like Dumazulu in Hluhluwe, where Zulu residents demonstrate the skilful processes of basket-weaving, spe 00004000 ar and shield making, pot-making and beadwork.

Swazi Creations

Swaziland, the tiny but culturally rich nation within South Africa's borders, is renowned, along with its fantastic wildlife, for its wonderful art and craft shops and markets. Wooden sculpture, soapstone carvings, glassware, mohair, tapestries, pottery and clothing are among the beautifully-made crafts that can be purchased in Swaziland. The really traditional Swazi craft is grass weaving, and expertly-woven mats and baskets are attractive and useful items that are sold everywhere in the country. One type of basket is so closely and skilfully woven it can even store liquids.
Roadside markets are especially great places to stop off on a road trip to the lively capital, Mbabane, as you can purchase some traditional crafts at bargain prices and also meet the friendly Swazi people.

A piece of Africa
Crafts in South Africa are more than just souvenirs of a region. They reflect the country's rich cultures, and whether you're taking home a quirky wire creation, a beaded masterpiece, or a gorgeous woven basket, you'll always have something unique to remind you of your wonderful trip to South Africa.

Work from home using the affiliate business model is a legitimate way to make money online. Online businesses choose to sell their products online using the affiliate business model because it allows their product to be sold through more channels, and therefore they make more money from online sales. This increase in revenue makes the revenue from the product higher; therefore, the company can afford to pay commissions to the people that help sell their product online. Two of the most well recognized examples of affiliate programs are Barnes and Nobles and Amazon.com (which proves its legitimacy). Amazon offers between 4% and 10% commissions, depending on the type of product and the number of products sold. Amazon is a trusted brand, and your commission could be 4% from selling numerous books at each, or it could be 4% from selling construction equipment (also available on Amazon), such as one electronic dynamometer for ,000, which would bring you over ,000 from one sale. How to help your anxious child with crying before bedtime

Night time for a child with anxiety disorder can be a difficult time. It is the time of the day when thoughts of the next day of school come to mind and a racing heart and uncontrollable fear sets in. My daughter sometimes would start crying at dinner time building up to uncontrollable crying at bedtime with intense fear about the next day. I can remember laying down with her and holding her crying myself. I have taken many trips to the psychologist and listed below are tips that have made bedtime considerably less stressful.

It helps to tell your child what anxiety is. I explained that it was a tricky alarm and that we just have to learn to control our alarm. You can then continue on to talk about ways to calm down. Learning to breathe in and blowing out slowly can relax a person and make it more difficult to become anxious. Also tighten up various parts of your body and let them relax. We still do our breathing and scrunching exercises as part of our bedtime routine.

Yellow Beads

Feather fans emerged around three thousand years ago during Shang Zhou dynasty in China. It is also said that some high society ladies during sixteen and seventeen century used feather fans to flaunt their wealth as these fans were regarded as status symbol. These fans were made from cranes, kingfishers, eagles, magpies and peacocks feathers. During the beginning of eighteen century they were used for decorative purposes. Also at that time when emperor received homage from his ministers he flanked himself with 156 peacock feather fans and in return sent them white feather fans to show his favor. But nowadays Chinese feather fans are made up of goose or peacock feathers and are embellished with gold or silver thread which makes them looks beautiful.
Now days there are beautiful feather fans available in myriad of styles and are embellished with stones, leathers, silver or gold thread etc. Apart from that beaded feather fans are available which not only give traditional look but are adorned with blue or yellow beads and are accoladed with clear quartz crystal or amethyst crystals. Also goose or pheasant feathers tied with decorative leather handle with silver moonstones and beads work on it adds grace to the handle. These fans are not only charming but are very easy to make at home and by following below steps we can make beautiful Native American feather fans.
First of all take some feathers it would be preferred if you use eagle feathers as these feathers would be easily available in art and craft stores. The number of feather you take depends on size of fan you want to make so you can take feathers in odd number around five to seven or more.
If feathers are not straight you can straighten them with lighted light bulb. You may gently run the feathers over the lighted bulb as heat coming out of light bulb will help in straightening the feathers but do take care and dont lay much pressure on quill as it may damage the feathers.
Trim the feathers with a pair of scissors and give them a gentle curve tip shape very much like a butter knife.
Lay out feathers such that they are slightly overlapped until center feather is positioned properly.
To make a handle you can either take a wooden stick or make handle from cardboard. If you are thinking of wooden stick handle then take care to smoothen its surface with sandpaper and you can shape it according to your need.
Cut the top of the wooden stick and cut it in small sticks depending on the number of feathers you are using and on each small stick glue the feathers.
Take two chopsticks and now gather the fan together in between the chopsticks and tape the end of chopsticks so that opens in a semicircle.
These beautiful fans made of feathers can be used in dance parties, can be complimented with your dress, hanged on wall or can be used for decorative purposes. If you are making them at home then with little bit of creativity you can make gorgeous feather fans and embellish them with stones, crystals, velvet paper etc. but take care not to clutter them with too much decoration and spoil them.
